2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63
Mercedes-Benz has done an excellent task keeping its approaching GLS-Class SUV out of the general public eye. The range-topping people mover is an uncommon sight for our spy professional photographers to catch, but the high-performance AMG version is rarer still. We haven’t seen Merc’s muscle SUV since October, and even then it’s only appeared for us a few times. The GLS 63 is using significant camouflage in this new sighting, but it still our best look so far of what needs to be rather a device.
2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 Exterior
For starters, the lower ride height and sturdy brakes idea us into this being an AMG model, not to discuss the quad exhaust exits at the back. The seven-passenger SUV likewise has some seriously large tires at the back, suggesting there will be a lot of horsepower reaching the pavement. We haven’t heard even a minor whisper on how much power will be on tap, but something north of 600 hp (448 kilowatts) is all however guaranteed. Perhaps the better concern is whether that power will originate from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, or something new.
Cladding and camouflage are still heavy on this prototype, but given that our last sighting, the SUV appears to have gotten a production-spec rear fascia and taillights. Details up front are considerably more difficult to see, and the parts behind the facade may be still being established. We aren’t privy to any interior shots either, however being the range-topping high-performance SUV from Mercedes, you can anticipate it to be awash with digital screens and the very most current tech, including autonomous chauffeur, assist systems.

We’ve found out through an official product roadmap that Mercedes prepares to reveal the basic GLS-Class sometime in the second half of this year. That means we’re most likely still a year away from seeing this AMG variant. However, it needs to deserve the wait.
